“Mendelssohn’s incidental music for Midsummer Night’s Dream still stands like a house, just like Shakespeare’s undisputed masterpiece centuries later. The Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, Collegium Vocale Gent conducted by Philippe Herreweghe and theatre company de Roovers seal this successful marriage between music and theatre with a magical theatre concert. The alienating world of the play is extended to the wings of the Queen Elizabeth Hall, on and behind the stage dream and reality intermingle. Due to current circumstances, we have unfortunately had to cancel our tickets for this concert in the Queen Elizabeth Hall. Together with director Jeremy De Ryckere (known from such films as ‘Vijf jaar hier’ and ‘De opvolger’), we transformed the theatre concert into a total spectacle in sound and vision. Expect an immersive multimedia production with video, theatre and music.”
